Disaster Recovery Tests 2019 Nov 22, 21:00 - Nov 24, 09:00 CEST
We will be conducting our customary annual Disaster Recovery Test this year as well. ASPEX can use these tests to decide whether optimization is necessary in its infrastructure, in order to be able to continue to guarantee a stable work environment.

The Disaster Recovery Test simulates a disaster scenario in our primary data centre during which our secondary data centre will take over all functions.

As far as possible ASPEX will itself test all applications in our data centre. It is also possible for you to test your applications yourself if you so request. In that case be sure to contact the ASPEX helpdesk. They will show you the way.

This test will be run during the weekend of 22 - 24 November.
We start with transfer of the environment on Friday evening
On Saturday we spend the day working in the secondary data centre
Saturday evening everything will be transferred back to the primary data centre

We expect the test to run smoothly, but end-users may experience some difficulties during transfer of the environment.
Definite timings are not yet known. Once we have them we shall inform you accordingly.

Resolved - Due to a storage issue on Microsoft Azure a few Aspex Azure servers experienced degraded performance for a time this morning. The issue has been resolved and all servers are performing normally.

Storage - West Europe - Mitigated

Summary of Impact: Between 23:20 UTC on 21 Oct 2019 and 04:32 UTC on 22 Oct 2019, a subset of customers using Storage in West Europe may have experienced difficulties connecting to resources hosted in this region.
Preliminary Root Cause: Engineers determined that an inconsistency within an internal system state caused a single storage scale unit in West Europe to enter an unhealthy state which resulted in downstream availability impact to several services in the region.
Mitigation: Engineers developed, tested, and deployed a platform hotfix to correct the inconsistency, restoring dependent services and mitigating the issue.
Next Steps: Engineers will continue to investigate to establish the full root cause and prevent future occurrences, and the full Root Cause Analysis will be made available within 72 hours.
